# Paydesk

> Paydesk is a Mac app for freelancers, consultants and small studios. It keeps projects, time tracking, quotes, invoices, expenses and reports in one place, and it runs entirely on the Mac: no account, no cloud, no network access. It costs $9.99 as a one-time purchase and is made by Minilabs.

Paydesk is launching soon, directly from its website and on the Mac App Store. Facts below are current as of 30 September 2026.

## What it does

- Project board with stages: Lead, Proposal sent, Accepted, In progress, Delivered, Invoiced, Paid
- Tasks with due dates, estimates and checklists, as a board or list
- Time tracking from the window, the menu bar or a global shortcut (Control-Option-Space), with idle-time detection and optional rounding of billed time
- "Bill Now" turns a project's unbilled hours (grouped by task) and billable expenses into a draft invoice
- Documents: proposals, quotes, invoices, receipts and credit notes; an accepted quote converts to an invoice
- Three typeset PDF templates (Ledger in Source Sans 3, Swiss in IBM Plex Sans, Atelier in EB Garamond) on A4 or US Letter
- Any currency; editable tax presets for 25 countries and regions (UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Africa, UAE, Canada, India with CGST/SGST/IGST, and US sales tax at a user-set rate)
- Gap-free document numbering with custom formats; issued documents cannot be edited, and corrections are made with credit notes
- SEPA (EPC) payment QR codes built from the bank details on the document
- Sending opens a Mail message in the document's language with the PDF attached; the user presses Send
- Reports: invoiced, received, expenses, profit, aging, tax charged, income by client, effective hourly rate by project
- On-device receipt reading for expenses

## What it does not do (yet)

- No sync between Macs
- No recurring invoices
- No card or online payment processing
- Not accounting software; tax presets are not tax advice
- The app interface is not yet translated
